In the Fall of 2017, WUMC formed a Capital Campaign Team to make recommendations and lead the congregation in its debt service. The formation of the team was preceded by an arrangement made with us by the Conference Loan Commission to help us dramatically reduce the church’s debt load. In short, we are currently receiving three years of 0% interest on our loan, and we are receiving some matching dollars in loan forgiveness for everything the church pays on principle for the next three years. This page will hold important documents about our loan, our endeavor to reduce the debt, and the strategies to do so.

This document provides a brief but thorough explanation of the special arrangement we have received and of our need to put energy into reducing the debt. The document also lists the Capital Team members.
Interim Report [Click]
Our Capital Team is working with Rev. Dr. Ed Zeiders and Jaclyn Cobosco from Dimensions4 Consulting. In the late fall/early winter, Ed and Jackie conducted interviews with congregation members. This interviews were solely to record what our attenders see as WUMC’s strengths, needs for growth, and hopes for the future. The interim report summarizes some of their findings.
Feasibility Study [Click]
On January 18, members of the Capital Team, Administrative Team, and other interested persons in the congregation met with Rev. Dr. Ed Zeiders to hear the results of his “Feasibility Study.” This lengthy report is two things: 1) it is a list of recommendations for ways that WUMC can be more vital and impactful as a faith community. These recommendations all come from what he heard from congregation members while interviewing us. 2) The report will also set the goal and groundwork for a church capital campaign. The linked document will be updated in a week or so to include the fundraising goal and timeline for the coming year.
