The youth ministries of WUMC are excited to host our 30 Hour Fast event from Saturday May 3 at 9:00am to Sunday May 4 at 3:00pm! See below for information about the event. Click here to email Nick Munyat for more information!
There will be a number of opportunities for the community to participate in this event! Stay tuned for the official schedule!
Poverty is a very real problem around the world, and even in our local communities. Millions worldwide go without basic necessities, including food and clean water. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness in the youth and our community of poverty through fasting (strict medical caution will be exercised), poverty simulation activities, discussions, Bible studies, and more.
Donations of dry foods and grocery store gift cards will be accepted to benefit local nutritional ministries.
Monetary donations will benefit the outreach ministries of Watsontown United Methodist Church and the 8th Street Disciples, including the youth mission trip to West Virginia (June 20-25).
We need your help!
Adult leaders needed for shifts ranging from 4 to 8 hours to help chaperone this event! Safe Sanctuaries clearances required. Please see Nick Munyat or Pastor Ryan for additional information and to sign up.
All youth are invited and encouraged to participate. Fasting is NOT required for the entire event, though there will be no planned meal times during the event. Join us even if you cannot stay for the entire 30 hours!
