Camy Brungard – “Miss Camy”
Miss Camy has been with Happy Harbor Preschool since the first day of class in 2002. She came to the program with over 10 years experience working in a childcare/preschool settings. In fall of 2001 the facility she was currently working for would be closing in June. In May of 2002, after studying the Prayer of Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:10), she was approached by a couple encouraging her to consider taking a step in faith and enlarging her territory. She went home prayed, researched, and spoke with her family. Eyes opened to God’s call, everything fell into place very quickly and the first class of Happy Harbor Preschool was started 3 months later.
Camy was raised in Watsontown and a graduate of Warrior Run High School. She’s has been a member of the Watsontown United Methodist Church since 1991. Her husband, Tedd Brungard, is the WUMC Building Manger and together they have two children. With cupboards full of games, you can drive by their home many of nights and see them sitting together around the dinning room table playing games.
Camy is a lifetime member of Girl Scouts where she is a Troop Leader & the Community Lead for Girl Scouts in the Heart of Pennsylvania. In the past, she has been PTO Secretary & President and an adult Sunday School Teacher. Most of her activities outside of preschool involve her children or children in some way.
She says: “Teaching at Happy Harbor Preschool has brought me many blessings. Watching the students go through the year growing both in their education & the spiritual walk is amazing. It is wonderful to see them so eager to learn.”
