Each year, Watsontown United Methodist Church hosts the Vacation Bible School program that kids (and adults!) from communities all over the area can’t wait to attend. This year’s VBS took place from July 10-14, 2016.

Youth of all ages attended and had a blast! Our nights began with singing and worship, followed by a dynamic skit by an engaging, fun drama team. The rest of the evenings challenged the youth with energetic games, lessons from Scripture, new dance moves, and crafts. Older youth (6th-12th grade) volunteered, took part in a week-long mission project, or assisted in a building crew.

VBS is also a time where we hold a pocket-change drive to support local charities. This year, we had Russ McClintock representing the Warrior Run Area Fire Department, Lynn Maynard representing the Wounded Warrior Project, and Pastor Ryan AND Krista Yoder representing Vacation Bible School 2017! At the end of the week, representatives for each charity received a “special surprise”… each got treated to some ice cold water! The winner actually got sprayed by a firetruck from the WRAFD!

We look forward to bringing Vacation Bible School 2017 next summer! Stay tuned for updates!
